Our Dedicated Corporate server is designed to be a robust and reliable server to meet the requirements of our larger clients. This server comes with our optional back up system to safely, and automatically, back up your mission critical content to the second hard disk in the system each night. You'll also find the data transfer provided with the server is more than ample for most needs and we'll give you "level two support" worth £49 per month free of charge. The server is perfect for any use from hosting to gaming and media streaming. It's your server and you'll have complete control over every aspect of the server including root SSH access and a web based control panel.

Full root access

You will have full root access to your server through SSH (the secure replacement for Telnet) and Webmin control panel. These allow you to be in complete control of your server and to administer all functions and features of the server. You don't share access with anyone, even ourselves, and the entire server is yours.

Fedora (Redhat) Linux

We include Fedora Linux (previously Redhat) on our dedicated servers. There are no licence fees for you to pay and you'll find Fedora Linux to be a stable and advanced operating system capable of many applications.

Full set of software

We've done all the hard work for you and have fully installed a massive range of software on each dedicated server. This means that you can host websites from your server right away and no specific knowledge is required before you get up and running. Software includes Apache web server, SSL capabilities, PHP, CGI, Perl, MYSQL database server, Email software, DNS software, FTP software, SSH software, POP3, Secure POP3, IMAP & Secure IMAP software, Webalizer stats software, GRUB boot loading software AND hundreds of other applications.

Full set of tools

To make life easier we've included a full set of useful tools with our dedicated servers including a system for making file backups, a software installation system, mail filtering software, Spam protection software, Perl module loader, Web based file manager system, CRON task scheduling software, server status monitoring software and more.

Fully configurable firewall included

We include a full server based firewall, complete with its own control panel, with every dedicated server in order to keep your server, and content safe. You can instantly create, edit and delete firewall rules without any specific detailed technical knowledge required.

Install your own software, applications or systems

Because you get an entire server, you are free to host anything you like on the machine (nothing illegal). This means you can install and run whatever scripts or applications that you want to. You could, for example, set up a game server or sms gateway if you desired. Please note that we do not allow IRC to be operated on our network.

2 IP addresses (allowing over 1,000 websites on each IP)

We include two IP (Internet Protocol) addresses with our dedicated servers as standard. Our dedicated servers use HTTP 1.1 protocol so you can host thousands of websites on one IP address. Extra IP addresses are available providing you can justify their usage at just £3 per month plus VAT.

Your server will be hosted in our london data suite within Redbus Interhouse. Features include diverse high quality power supplies, generator backup, full UPS, full security systems including 24hour onsite staff, access alarms, CCTV monitoring, swipe card access, and DENCO air conditioning. Multihomed quality bandwidth via Level3 & Tiscali

Our bandwidth is supplied to our London data suite over our own twin diversely routed cabling by Band-x Limited and is multi-routed through Level3 & Tiscali. We've invested heavily in our network operations and we currently back our network with a full 99.95% uptime guarantee.



Generous data transfer levels

Our Dedicated Corporate server comes with 100GB of data transfer per month. 100GB is enough for approximately 1.5 million visits and many more hits. If you use more than this the cost is just 0.3p per additional mega byte used. Alternatively if you wish to purchase your data connection on a limited bandwidth rate basis you can arrange this with us after server set up.



Dedicated high quality HP 100mbit/sec switch port

Your server will be directly connected to one of our high quality HP Procurve 48 port managed switching units in our data suite. We have onsite replacement switches & cables available in case of failure and constantly monitor our network equipment remotely.




Management features:

Full graphical web based server control panel

We include a full graphical web based control panel, called Webmin, for your server which enables you to control, in real time, every aspect of the server's software (including DNS and Apache web server) so you won't need any command line knowledge to start using your server right away. You can also install software at the click of a button, schedule regular backups and more.



SiteControl V6.0

The original SiteControl account manager, established by SyphonStudios in August 2000, allows you to keep track of all of your packages, update your details, view your VAT invoices and billing history, check the latest network status, contact our support department, view our support forums, send an emergency pager message to our engineers and more.



VAT receipt for your records

We provide as standard, with every sale, a full VAT receipt for your records in an easy to print format.



Full MRTG bandwidth & traffic monitoring & graphing.

We will provide you with full real time graphs clearly showing your bandwidth usage so that you can check your bandwidth levels and stick within your budget. We use MRTG (Multi Router Traffic Graphing) to measure usage through our high quality HP switching units.




Support:

24 hour per day reboots

If you need to manually reboot your server at any time and for any reason we will do this for you at any time of the day or night. Please note that you can also reboot your server for free at any time using your control panel and would only need to use our manual reboot service if your server was unreachable via the internet. For an additional charge we can also connect you to one of our APC reboot power switches for additional fast reboot abilities.



Full server monitoring

We'll automatically monitor your server from multiple locations 24/7/365 and send you an SMS text message, within 5 minutes, should the server become unavailable for any reason.



Support level

Our Dedicated Corporate server includes level two support (worth £49 per month) free of charge. Level two support includes 24/7/365 server reboots, hardware issues resolved within 12 hours, assistance with initial configuration and initial set up of basic services and help via email.



Busy community & support forums

Every SyphonStudios customer is invited to join our busy community forums located within our account manager tool. Our unique forums have thousands of members and give you the chance to discuss just about anything with other customers and our support team. Our forums get over 300,000 hits each month and you're invited to join.



24 hour emergency engineer pager & voicemail

We'll give you 24 hour pager and voicemail contact with our engineers so that you are never on your own should you experience a serious problem. We have at least one member of staff available to help 24 hours per day 365 days per year. You can be assured that we will offer you help and support in the event of an emergency.

Contract:

Fast account set up

Providing we can authorise your payment your dedicated server can be activated within 24 hours of your order. Activation can sometimes take longer, for example when we have low server stocks due to high demand, so if you have an urgent requirement we recommend checking timescales before ordering. We will always contact you in such cases to let you know. Some servers may have to be built to order and we will contact you to advise if this is the case.

Free optional 0845 dial up access

You'll get access to our optional 0845 dial up access service, connecting you to the heart of the UK internet at the London Internet Exchange (LINX). The only cost is the local call rate charged by BT for the call from your PC to our modem racks. You are under no obligation to use the service and you can connect to our servers from any ISP.



Easy brand protection using JustReg (tm)

JustReg is a new low cost service from SyphonStudios that gives you the flexibility to protect your brand or change your website address from just 15p per week. JustReg allows you to automatically register other domain names and redirect them instantly and seamlessly to your SyphonStudios hosting package(s).



Free to use webmail service

Our free webmail service allows you to read your email using any internet enabled PC from anywhere in the world. You simply enter your email details to read, reply. delete and forward your messages.
